entry about John McCain and Bill Richardson
Picture this. Bill Richardson and John McCain on the same ticket in the 2008 general election. What a ticket that would be. Could you imagine how far our country would go if those two were on the same side? You'd have the honesty and moderate views of John McCain and the intelligence and know how of Bill Richardson together in one kick ass stimulus package. Bill Richardson should of been the favorite on the Democrat side because he's not only a change agent but he has the experience both domestic and abroard to restore our image in the world and our society. John McCain would bring a sense of pride and honor back to the Military after Bush ravaged our men and women in uniform and turned them into sitting ducks for Al-Queida and other terrorists.
Bill Richardson. Calm, reserve, reasonable guy. He had alot to offer this country. He's had years of experience as a bridge builder to rogue nations in the world. He used to be a goodwill ambassador and helped negotiate the release of hostages from the Middle East. He would bring a different prospective back to Washington. To me Bill Richardson represents America's conscience. A voice of reason within politics that could steady a room filled with dictators and the people that oppose them. I was bummed when Bill dropped out. I think if he didn't have to deal with things in New Mexico he could have made a strong run for president. He would of been the alternative to Barack and Hilary. He embodies real experience and change while Obama and Clinton use those two terms as a gimmick for their "respective" campaigns.
John McCain is the only real candidate of either side left in the elections. He's the most honest and he stood by his beliefs no matter how many people criticized him for it. He's a maverick and many in this country admire and like him. Independents and moderates would also become apart of the process if McCain won the White House. Indies are drawn to him because of his views and his sort of "buck the system" approach to politics. That's why more independents went for McCain than Obama in New Hampshire.
Now back to Bill Richardson:
If you watched him in the debates he was the calm one. The one that never got into personal spats and never bashed another candidate. While Barack and John Edwards bum rushed Hilary and threw accusations at her, Bill Richardson defused the tension with intelligent humor. He also looked like the most qualified after Joe Biden and Chris Dodd dropped out.
Richardson actually talked about issues. While everyone was making big overdramtic speeches and creating populist rhetoric, or repeating the same stuff over and over again on how they were inevitable or how they have 35 years of god knows what, Bill Richardson actually answered questions in the debate.
So alas my dream will never be. For this is an election year of the rockstar candidate. Barack Obama, the media darling. NBC's prize fighter. He's like this teen idol. Like David Cassidy or Elvis.
I mean I 've never seen such a thing. The media refuses to test him and his supporters view him like the wickerman from the movie of the same name. I'm still waiting for when they call him the messiah. Ride in on your white horse with angels at your side oh "Great Obama" My god that man's speeches are longer than John Kerry's chin. Someone, a pillow quick, I'm about to fall asleep.
Hilary Clinton the operator of the Clinton Machine redux. With her bragging of "35 years runnin wild" and her pants suits that never wrinkle or move for that matter. If she's not stiffin the media then she's squeezin her stalker Chris Matthews' face or she's just plain takin names whenever the right-wing or far, far left Obamanites in the media try to bring her down and announce her demise. Even with all her hangups, that chick is one tought cookie. For that alone I admire her. And I guess for an older woman she aint aged too badly there. I mean I can't tell you how many president's wives were fug ugly, see Barbara Bush.
If only people weren't picking candidates based on how popular they are. I wish people were smart enough to snap out of the populist hypnosis that Obama, Edwards, and Clinton use to gain support. We need you Bill Richardson. Well, at least McCain is still in it. But as far as Bill Richardson getting a fair chance to set everyone straight, well, heres to dreamin.
